SAN ANDREAS, Calif.—Today a team of Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers are responding to the devastating wildfires in California.

Included among the volunteers are members of First Baptist Church of Chandler, which offer a laundry service trailer for victims and volunteers, are serving in San Andreas and other areas.

Sam Porter, Disaster Relief Director for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma (BGCO), said Oklahoma Baptists offer a wide range of disaster services.

“From wildfires to floods, our trained volunteers have a heart to serve people in need to show the love of God. Our services include meal preparation, laundry service, ash removal, chaplaincy and more,” said Porter.

Porter says Oklahoma Baptist ash clean-up teams are on standby for action and could be activated in coming days.
