Orientation & Credentialing

Volunteer orientation is open to any member of a Southern Baptist church who is at least 18 years of age. Attending orientation does not obligate you to serve, but it is necessary before serving. A Disaster Relief ID badge will be issued to those who complete orientation and pass a background check. Updating an expiring/expired badge requires EVERYONE to complete orientation and a background check; currently, every three (3) years.

Orientations and credentialing events may include feeding, chainsaw, mud-out/ash-out, shower/laundry, damage assessment, chaplaincy, formstack, initial contact, and blue cap training. Blue cap training is limited to those who are currently a blue cap and those nominated by a blue cap.

    • Join us for a day designed to celebrate, encourage and train current volunteers.  The day will include a light breakfast, buffet type lunch, multiple breakout options, guest speaker, fellowship, awards and giveaways.  Online registration coming soon.

If you plan on attending, pre-registration is required as this helps us to plan for the event! The pre-registration form can be found at the bottom of this page (There is an option to pay at the event – if you choose this option you will need to bring cash or a check as we have no way to process credit/debit cards on site).

For overnight lodging – bring sleeping gear, towel, toiletries, etc.

PROPER CLOTHING (Jeans, boots/covered shoes, gloves, etc.) MUST be worn for workday – so come prepared.
