Orientation & Credentialing

Volunteer orientation is open to any member of a Southern Baptist church who is at least 18 years of age. Attending orientation does not obligate you to serve, but is necessary before serving. A Disaster Relief ID badge will be issued to those who complete orientation and a background check. Updating an expiring/expired badge requires EVERYONE to complete orientation and a background check; currently, every five (5) years.

Orientations and credentialing events may include feeding, chainsaw, mud-out/ash-out, shower/laundry, first aid, damage assessment, formstack, and blue cap training. Damage assessment, formstack and blue cap training are limited to returning team members who have completed prerequisites.

Southern Baptists interested in being a part of the Disaster Relief team can attend any event listed below. Pre-registration is highly recommended to speed check-in on the day of the event.

March 30, 2019 – Emmaus Baptist Church, 16001 S. Western, OKC 73170. Time: 8:00am – 2:00pm – Lunch provided. Feeding, chainsaw, recovery, formstack, assessment, shower/laundry, First Aid, initial contact person, and blue cap.

  • New Volunteers – $15.00
  • Returning volunteers needing badge – $10.00
  • BCM students – $10.00

April 27, 2019 – First Baptist Church, Tulsa, 403 S. Cincinnati Ave. Time: 8:00 am-2:00pm – Lunch provided.  Feeding, chainsaw, recovery, formstack, assessment, shower/laundry, First Aid, initial contact person, and blue cap.

October 26, 2019 – Putnam City Baptist Church, 11401 N. Rockwell, OKC 73162. Time: 8:00 am-2:00 pm – Lunch provided. Feeding, chainsaw, recovery, formstack, assessment, shower/laundry, First Aid, initial contact person, and blue cap.

The American Heart Association CPR/First Aid Certification classes will be taught at the DR TEaM Center on the dates below.
