MORGAN CITY, La.—In the aftermath of Hurricane Francine, Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief (DR) volunteers are serving storm victims in numerous ways, including mud-out, preparing meals, offering showers and laundry service and more.

Jason Yarbrough, Oklahoma Baptists’ disaster relief director highlighted the relief work happening, and “even more importantly the ministry conversations that are happening.”

Volunteers from Oklahoma are joined by other states including Texas, Arizona, Missouri and Mississippi.

Oklahoma Baptist DR is providing all its support services based out of Morgan City, La., First where Incident Command, showers, laundry and feeding teams are active.

According to daily reports, there have been 226 work orders received, with 41 of those already completed by volunteers. Already there have been two professions of faith, 16 Gospel presentations, 198 ministry contacts and 20 Bibles being presented.

“As always, our DR Teams are working hard and doing a great job of being the hands and feet of Jesus!” Yarbrough said.
