UPDATE: If you would like to help in this effort and are willing to haul hay truckloads please contact Randy Garrett at 501-231-9100
In the wake of devastating wildfires, Sam Porter of Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief is working with Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief in coordinating the delivery of 250 donated large round bales of hay to Oklahoma Ranchers who have lost nearly all of the grass from the recent Wildfires.
According to Porter, who serves as director of Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief, the bales will be delivered to Knowles, Oklahoma in the Oklahoma Panhandle. Rancher Jim Hilton from Beaver County is coordinating the receiving and distribution effort to local ranches from the Baptist Disaster Relief organizations.
Porter said, “Arkansas Disaster Relief Director, Randy Garrett has coordinated with Tyson Inc. to coordinate trucking the hay from the Ft. Smith area.”
In addition, flatbed trailers are a need. It will take many trips to deliver this generous donation, Porter added. Any trucking firm in Oklahoma willing to donate a “delivery” may contact Sam Porter Director of Oklahoma Southern Baptist Disaster Relief at
