SEMINOLE—Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief (DR) team members traveled to Seminole this morning, serving those who were affected by tornadic activity that happened last night, May 4. Don Williams, state DR director, reported Seminole, First is currently used as a command station.

Williams said DR is providing chaplains and assessors, incident command, feeding teams, chainsaw teams and generators. DR will be providing meals for Seminole Medical Center, as the hospital is unable to prepare food for patients and staff.

DR also is planning to serve in Okmulgee and Muskogee after receiving reports of flooding in those areas.

“We plan on working through Saturday, send everyone home to celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday, but be back on Monday to continue helping those in need and sharing Christ’s love,” Williams said.
