OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma’s (BGCO) Disaster Relief teams have begun assessment of storms on Wednesday evening.

According to Dave Karr, an official with the BGCO Disaster Relief Operation, the Rapid Response Assessment Team immediately responded in Moore, Tulsa and other areas. In addition, DR officials from Oklahoma Baptists are in close contact with its network of relief agencies to identify ways to serve affected communities.

The BGCO volunteer disaster relief, who has more than 5,000 trained volunteers, provides a wide array of disaster relief services including clean up and meal preparation for other relief agencies, and has been involved in many major disasters, including the response to 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, the 2013 Moore tornadoes and more.
